Are you interested in joining up with a group of like-minded people from Park Street Church to serve as part of a team? Service small groups make a commitment to God and to each other to reach out their community on a regular basis throughout the year. Service small groups mix regular service opportunities with prayer and Bible study. Serving as part of a service small group is a great way to step out in faith while being surrounded by a supportive group of Christian brothers and sisters.
The following CityWorks-sponsored service small groups are active in 2007-08:
- Homeless Outreach Group, Thursday nights, 7:00-10:00pm. Build relationships with the homeless on Boston Common, in collaboration with Starlight ministries.
- Urban Education Group, Wednesday nights. This small group has partnered with HERC to tutor and mentor urban youth in the Dorchester area.
The following service opportunity awaits the prayerful commitment of those wishing to lead and/or join a service small group :
- Prison Education Group, Weekly, day/time TBD. Support and tutor prisoners as they prepare for their GED examinations, in collaboration with Partakers.
